A Proper Pub
A proper pub steeped with over 300 years of history
Over 300 years old, steeped in history and integral to the community.
Even though it is small in size it is big in heart and, in it’s time, the Welcome has provided many services to Llanrhidian and Gower: A cranny that was used as the Gaol; the Long Room, a food hall that doubled up as a courtroom for local miscreants; a meeting place for the landowners of Gower and a masonic temple;
Now having undergone a complete refurbishment, the Welcome is open. Proud to be a proper pub and unpretentious where the food is simple and delicious & the wines & beers are kept to perfection!
Food with flair
Fresh ingredients, Locally sourced
We love seasonal, local produce and use it where ever it’s possible. From our Gower grown meats from Howells Butchers & Tuckers of Penclawdd to the fresh vegetables from the Gower garden and fish straight from the estuary.
