The menu at the Welcome is our pride and joy. Home cooked food with the flavours of Europe, prepared with love from fresh, locally sourced produce.
All our main menus are listed below. Our Dining Menu and Sunday Lunches change regularly, but these’ll give you an idea of the sort of food we serve.
Where to eat?
Anywhere! We run a very relaxed ship and want you to feel comfortable so we’ll serve your food wherever you want it. There is a bar menu but if you want the full menu in the bar or the bar menu in the Dining Room it’s your choice.
And of course in the long balmy Gower summers outdoor eating on the front terrace or our pretty garden is a very real and enticing proposition.
Morning coffee is served from 11am and cake is available until it’s all gone! We serve our great friend Marcus Luporini’s Gower coffee. Marcus’ family have run the famous Kardomah café in Swansea for over 40 years; he is Gower born of Italian descent and has developed his own delicious brands of coffee which are blended and roasted to his own unique recipe. We know you’ll love them and if you want to find out more go to www.gowercoffeecompany.co.uk/
Lunch is possibly the most rewarding of all eating times; breakfast is said to be the most important, tea the most reassuring, dinner the most substantial but it is lunch that is the fulcrum of the day. Lunch at the Welcome is perfect for those seeking a break from the day’s business, for those about to tackle the Welsh Coastal Path or after an invigorating morning surfing.
Actually, lunch at the Welcome is just perfect whatever the excuse. And we know that lunch can be a moveable feast so we are relaxed about when you come – midday all the way through to 4:30pm is fine with us. And you haven’t lived until you’ve tried our Sunday lunch. I shall say no more.
We adore a traditional afternoon tea, with cucumber sandwiches, scones and cakes. So we’ve stuck to our roots and created an afternoon tea just like the ones we love. Presented on beautiful china tiered cake stands, with mis-matched tea pots, cups and saucers we’re sure you’ll enjoy the eclectic mix.
All our sandwiches, scones and cakes are homemade on the premises. Enjoy a steaming hot cup of Early Grey or Breakfast tea, or an Americano coffee. And if you’re feeling a little decadent, why not add a glass of sparkling wine?
Our chef brings excellence in food preparation and presentation to the Welcome but without the silly prices or the formality associated with “fine dining”. We want all of our customers to be able to enjoy awesome food at realistic prices and the theatre of dinner in the Welcome gives you just that.
Our menu is not long. Never more than 7 starters or main courses and driven by what our suppliers bring to our back door. Our sea bass is line caught by Kevin just off the Gower coast, our beef and lamb come from Gower farmers and our vegetables are supplied by local farmer Bernard. Everything is delicious food that you will want to come back for over and over again.
We change the menu regularly so if you are planning a visit and would like something specific give us a bell or drop us an email and we will do our best to sort it out for you.
